International Comparative Evaluation of Suppliers of Regenerative Pasture-Raised Beef: Forensic Audit of Biochemical Purity and Its Clinical Relevance in Nutritional Neurobiology
Nutrition
Introduction: The biochemical quality of beef depends critically on the rearing system and the industrial processing method, variables that modulate the lipid profile, micronutrient density, and the presence of xenobiotic residues, with direct implications for the consumer's neuroimmunological homeostasis. Objective: To identify and characterize, through a comparative document audit, commercial beef suppliers that meet verifiable standards for grass-fed/grass-finished beef (100%), absence of prophylactic hormones and antibiotics, and carbon monoxide-free packaging in five producing countries: the United States, Mexico, Spain, Colombia, and Argentina. Methods: A forensic clinical audit filter was applied to publicly available information from certified producers, evaluating three dimensions: (i) breeding system and purity certifications issued by independent third parties, (ii) traceability and distribution channel, and (iii) packaging technology, with emphasis on the exclusion of modified atmospheres with carbon monoxide and packaging with bisphenol A. Results: Seventeen suppliers were documented that fully comply with the established criteria, with White Oak Pastures (United States), Indomitus (Mexico), Ecobovis (Spain), Hacienda Las Carolinas (Colombia) and Pastizales Nativos (Argentina) standing out as benchmarks, all backed by independent international certifications (American Grassfed Association, Savory Institute Ecological Outcome Verification, Regenerative Organic Certified, CAAE or B Corp). Conclusions: Beef from regenerative grazing systems, certified by third parties and vacuum-packed without artificial gases, constitutes a qualitatively superior nutritional substrate, with a more favorable Omega-6/Omega-3 lipid profile and a higher density of micronutrients and antioxidants. Prioritizing this type of supply is recommended in clinical nutrition protocols focused on cardiometabolic and neurocognitive health. Keywords: Pasture-raised beef; regenerative livestock farming; nutritional neurobiology; Omega-3/Omega-6 lipid profile; food certification; carbon monoxide in packaging; food traceability.
